Medium tree, variable in size and growth. White flowers in summer. Bark is whitish and smooth, peeling in ribbons, with darker bark at base. Prefers moist, well drained or wet soils. Will grow from warm temperature to highlands zone in most rich soils. Requires full sun. Very resistant to frost, moderately resistant to drought. Wind tolerance – can be placed in the front line of a windbreak. |
