Medium shrub with dark green oval leaves. Red flowers often.

Will grow from tropical to cool temperature zones in most soils. Prefers moist, well drained or dry soils. Adaptable to most drainage conditions. Adaptable to sun or shade. Resistant to salt winds and pollution; moderately resistant to saline soils, drought and frost. Wind tolerance – can be placed in the first line of a windbreak.
