Large shrub. Leaves are small, dark green in colour and elliptical in shape. Purple flowers in summer.

Will grow from warm temperate to cool temperature zones in most soils. Prefers moist, well drained or dry soils. Adaptable to sun or shade. Resistant to saline soils and pollution; moderately resistant to drought, salt winds and frost.
