Habit: Variable according to situation.

Small, shrubby or mallee-like on poor sandy soils; 15-40 metres in taller open forest.

Origin/Habitat: SA-Vic.

Foliage: Adult leaves are 5-16cm in length, thick, glossy and dark green on both sides, oblique at base. Juvenile leaves are opposite and ovate at first.

Flowers: Dec-April.

Other features for identification: Buds in clusters of 5-10, rough caps. Wood is pale brown in colour. Fruit is broad 10-12mm in diameter, and rounded.

Other: Timber is fairly durable, used in lighter construction. Good fuel.

Propagation: Is by seed sown in spring.
