Eucalyptus cinerea

Common Name: Silver-leaved Stringybark /  Argyle Apple / Mealy Stringybark

Height: 7-15 metres.

Habit: small to medium fibrous barked tree.

Family: Myrtaceae

Origin/Habitat: mostly found on poorer soils from sedimentary or granite-type rocks, on lower slopes in hill country, or on poorly drained flats. NSW and Vic.

Foliage: glaucous in colour, broad, opposite leaves which usually persist to some degree on mature trees.

Other features for identification: Bark is thick, fibrous, fissured and grey-brown in colour. Buds usually glaucous found in groups of 3-10. Fruit 6-9mm in diameter, sometimes glaucous, 3-4 valves.
