Habit: Small to large tree. Family: Myrtaceae Origin/Habitat: Widely planted on plain country of w Vic, along roadsides, as windbreaks, etc. Naturally found S Flinders Ranges, Kangaroo Island & Eyre Pen. Foliage: Adult leaves 9-15cm in length, long, oily green luster both sides (paler on one side). Juvenile leaves opposite, thin, pale green in colour. Flowers: Jan-Feb. White in colour. Other

Buds in clusters of 5-16, elongated, 8-10mm. Fruit is ribbed, especially when
dry. Soil
preferences: Fertilise
at plant out with 10gm of 18:2.6:10 NPK slow release. Cultural tolerances: Will grow from warm to cool temperature zones, in most soils. Requires full sun. Moderately resistant to salt winds, frost and pollution; resistant to drought. Wind tolerance – can be placed in the front line of a wind break. Maintenance requirements: Low. Add a 9 month slow release fertiliser in spring. Uses:
